How to Generate a Delivery Order (DO) for Ocean Import Shipments in GoFreight

Follow the steps below to create and manage a Delivery Order (DO) in the Ocean Import module.

Step 1: Access the Delivery Order Function

  1. Ensure that shipment key entry has been completed.
  2. Navigate to the MBL (Master Bill of Lading) or HBL (House Bill of Lading) from which the Delivery Order can be generated.
  3. Click on the Tools menu under the HBL, for example.
  4. Select Delivery Order from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Review the Generated Delivery Order

Once the Delivery Order is generated, a preview page in PDF format will open. The form will include:

  • Date – Automatically set to today’s date.
  • File No. – Linked to the shipment record.

Step 3: Edit Trucker, Pickup, Delivery, and Bill To Details

  1. The form will display key sections, including:
    • TRUCKER
    • PICKUP
    • DELIVERY
    • BILL TO
  2. To change any trade partner, click the Select button next to the relevant field.
  3. You can also edit the text directly within the fields as needed.

Note: Any modifications made on the printing preview page will not overwrite your existing shipment information. They will only apply to the current preview for one-time use.

Step 4: Review Shipment and Container Information

On the right-hand side of the form, shipment details include:

  • MBL No. & HBL No.
  • Vessel & Voyage
  • Container Information

Review this section to ensure accuracy.

Step 5: Add Remark and Select Remark Options

  1. Type any necessary information into the Remark field.
  2. Next to the remark field, check any applicable remark options, for example, 
    • Appointment Needed
    • Lift Gate Needed

Step 6: Verify the Container’s Mark, Description, PKGS/WEIGHT/MEASUREMENT

  1. Verify that the information is correct.
  2. If any modifications or additions are needed, you can manually update the fields directly.

Step 7: Insert a Template for Marks and Descriptions (Optional)

The Insert Template function allows you to quickly apply pre-defined text templates for consistency in your Pre-Alert documents. This feature can be enabled upon request. You can proceed to the next step if you don’t need this feature.

  1. Click the blue arrow in the upper corner of any field to insert a predefined template.
  2. Click the green pen icon to create a new text template.
  3. Click ADD, name the template, and confirm.
  4. Enter the text and click SAVE > APPLY.
  5. The newly created template will now be available for future use.

Step 7: Save and Export the Delivery Order

At the top of the preview page, you can:

  • Download as PDF
  • Print
  • Email directly through GoFreight
  • Enable Word format  (Available upon request)

Once an action is selected, the document is automatically saved in the DOC Center.

Your Delivery Order is now complete and ready for use!
