How to Set Up and Use IT Numbers (IT No.) for Import Shipments

Users with other roles may gain access to this feature upon approval from an Admin or General Manager, and GoFreight support agents can assign it with or without changing the user's role.
Setting Up IT Numbers (Inbound Transit Numbers)
- Access IT No. Management:
- Navigate to the Settings menu and select IT No. Management to open the setup page.
- Create a New IT Number Range:
- Click the green plus button to add a new IT number range.
- Enter the beginning number in the Begin No. field and the ending number in the End No. field.
- Ensure that each IT number is composed of 8 digits. If the format is incorrect, the system will display a warning.
- Add Remarks (Optional):
- In the Remark column, add any internal notes for future reference.
- Save the IT Number Range:
- After entering the required information, click Save to store the IT number range in the system.
- Delete Incorrect Entries:
- If you make a mistake, select the row you wish to remove and click the trash button.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking OK on the pop-up message.
Using IT Numbers in Your Import Shipment
- Access the Shipment Details:
- Go to the appropriate section of the import shipment, such as the House Bill of Lading (House BL) under the Ocean Import module, or the House Air Waybill (House AWB) under the Air Import module.
- Generate the IT Number:
- Locate the IT No. field.
- Click the system-generate button to automatically assign an IT number to the shipment.
- Confirm IT Number Assignment:
- Once the IT number is auto-generated, a confirmation message will appear. Click OK to finalize the assignment.
- The system will then populate the 9-digit IT number in the field.
- Finality of IT Numbers:
- Note that once an IT number is assigned to a shipment, it cannot be reversed.
By following these steps, you can effectively set up and manage IT numbers for your air import shipments and ocean import shipments in GoFreight.
