How to Set Up Trade Parties for Trade Partners
Introduction
The Trade Party section enables users to manage details of organizations with which a trade partner frequently conducts business. This functionality ensures that key information, such as billing and delivery locations, automatically populates when processing shipments.

Which Role Can Access by Default
- General Manager
- Operation Manager
- Accounting Manager
- Accounting
Users in other roles can request this functionality with approval from an Admin or General Manager, after which a GoFreight support agent can grant access.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Adding a Trade Party
- Navigate to the Trade Party section within the Trade Partner profile.
- Click Add Trade Party to input a new organization.
- Select the type of trade party:
- Bill To Party (for invoicing)
- Pickup Location
- Delivery Location
- Enter the relevant details (company name, address, etc.).
2. Setting a Default Trade Party
- If a trade partner consistently utilizes the same Bill To or Pickup/Delivery location, designate it as the Default Trade Party by checking the checkbox Default.
- The default trade party will auto-populate when the trade partner is selected in a shipment.
3. Overriding the Default Trade Party on a Shipment
- If a shipment requires a different trade party, manually select another from the list.
4. Saving the Trade Party Configuration
- Click Save to apply your changes.
- The system will now auto-fill trade party details when the trade partner is used in shipments.
