Ocean Import – Shipment Entry Page

Overview

The Shipment Entry module in GoFreight enables users to create and manage Ocean Import shipments efficiently. The interface features a structured layout, with the Master Bill of Lading (MB/L) displayed at the top and the House Bill of Lading (HB/L) positioned beneath it.

Creating an MB/L

  1. Navigate to Ocean Import and click “New Shipment” to open the Shipment Entry page.
  2. Fill in all mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk (*), including:
    • MB/L No.
    • ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
  3. The Office field will be automatically populated based on your default office settings.
  4. Click Save to store the shipment details.

Creating an HB/L

  1. Click the [+] button at the top right corner to create a House Bill of Lading.
  2. The system will differentiate HBLs using distinct color schemes for clarity.
  3. Fill in all required fields marked with a red asterisk (*), including:
    • HB/L No.
  4. Click Save to store the House Bill details.

Auto-Populated Fields & Manual Adjustments

  • Fields such as Consignee, Customer, Bill To, and Sales are automatically populated if complete information is available in the Trade Partner database.
  • To make changes, click the [x] button to remove or replace existing details.

Generating and Sending Arrival Notices

  1. Once shipment details are complete, navigate to [Tools] on the right side of the shipment page.
  2. Click on [Arrival Notice] to generate the document.
  3. A preview page will appear, allowing you to review the information:
    • Any modifications made on this preview page will NOT affect the original shipment data.
  4. To send the Arrival Notice:
    • Click the email/send icon at the top.
    • A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to input recipient details and successfully send the document.
